A Burden To Be Human

i know the cruelties of a woman
i know the cruelties of man
it is a burden to be human
you just do the best you can

life is mortal, our time is short
existence is hard in every port
try to get by and fill the spaces
with the love and hurt, with people and places

in life we've come a long long way
have far to go from today
a need to change and move along
make things right and end the wrong

i know the ignorance of mankind
i see the problems holding me
i want a life thats not a bad kind
where hopes and dreams of life will be

i know the road is a bumpy one
with pitfalls all along the route
but to travel the way through today
is what living is all about
